WATER OUTAGE- 12" Main Break in East Macon

Macon Water Authority is on site investigating a water main break in the East Macon area. The main break may affect water service around Emory Drive and Ocmulgee East in East Macon. Macon Water Authority is Open for Business

Macon Water Authority’s main office and phone lines are open for business during our normal business hours of 8am – 5:30 pm. In the event of an emergency, please contact MWA Customer Care at 478-464-5600 during normal business hours. For after hours emergency please call 478-464-5656.

Hurricane Irma and Macon Water Authority- Update

There are currently NO issues with the water quality produced by MWA. In the event that water quality may be impacted due to Hurricane Irma, MWA will issue instructions and guidance to customers about water consumption at that time. Again – At the present time, there are NO ISSUES with the QUALITY of your Drinking Water.

There is a rumor circulating on Facebook that MWA water is contaminated due to Hurricane Irma, this IS NOT TRUE!!! All water service is safe. Plant and distribution systems are operating normally. If there is a need to post a boil water advisory for the public we will do so. Please, like and share this message with your friends.

Due to Hurricane Irma approaching Macon-Bibb County over the next 48 hours, our plant and maintenance staff are working to maintain service levels to our customers. With sustained winds expected to be over 40mph for 24 hours, MWA crews will not be working in the field until it is deemed safe to return crews to the field to address service outages.
