A Letter from our Chairman
As chairman of the Macon Water Authority Board of Directors, I'd like to take a moment to welcome you to our new web site.
For over 100 years, the citizens of Macon and Bibb County, Georgia have elected representatives to act as their voice in directing the water resources of this region, through the operations of this Authority. I have had the privilege of serving this community on the Water Authority Board for nearly 30 years.
My fellow Board members and I do not take our commitment to this Authority lightly. We understand that one of the keys to a safe and growing community is a secure and effective water and sewer system. We also recognize that we must be good stewards of our water resources, as well as responsible managers of the Authority's finances.
I believe that one of the primary assets of this Authority is our highly trained and qualified staff – a dedicated group of individuals committed to serving our customers every day. You may see many of them as you move around the community as they read meters or install water mains. But there are many people that you don't see, those who work behind the scenes in our labs, plants, administration offices, and elsewhere. Overall, the contribution of our employees to this community is immeasurable, even if recognition of such is often lacking.
I hope that this web site will give you - our stakeholders and our guests - a glimpse into this Authority and what we do for the citizens of Macon and Bibb County, Georgia. We believe the best reflection of our mission is the growing number of satisfied customers who provide us with the privilege of serving them daily with water, sewer, and related services.
