Environmental Stewardship

Another important part of the MWA Laboratory/Environmental Compliance Department is its responsibility for monitoring streams and rivers, to help protect them.  This process includes MWA’s Watershed Assessment and Protection program and assessing the effects from sewage spills.  The purpose of this monitoring is not only to safeguard the families and citizens of Macon and Bibb County, but also to protect the wildlife and natural resources so they can continue to be enjoyed by future generations.

Environmental Stewardship is one of the top priorities of the operations at the Macon Water Authority, primarily thanks to the work of the Laboratory/Environmental Compliance Department.

For questions concerning water testing, water quality, and the Authority’s Laboratory/Environmental Compliance Department, contact Mark Wyzalek at (478) 464-5678.
