Centralized Maintenance

The Centralized Maintenance Department of the MWA provides ongoing, necessary maintenance on all non-linear assets throughout Bibb County.  Non-linear assets are classified as any equipment that is not a water and sanitary sewer line, but required to properly run a water and sanitary sewer system; this includes, but is not limited to: water tanks, pump stations, and plant equipment.  The MWA Centralized Maintenance Department follows the asset reliability model when conducting its work.  This model incorporates preventative, predictive, and overhaul maintenance of all non-linear assets.

Work within the Centralized Maintenance Department is coordinated and scheduled weekly with an inter-departmental meeting to set priorities and properly allocate necessary resources.  This process has improved the efficiency and reliabilty of the Macon Water Authority's non-linear assets.

In addition to overseeing the ongoing maintenance on non-linear assets, the MWA's Centralized Maintenance Department also oversees the Mechanical Certification Program for MWA maintenance professionals.
