Kids Fishing Derby set for Saturday March 4th
The MWA, through its Outdoor Recreation Committee and its non-profit subsidiary, the Macon Water Alliance, will be hosting the 18th Annual Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday March 4, 2023, at Javors Lucas Lake. • The Fishing Derby site is located at 150 Broach Lane, off Upper River Road. • The event is free and open to children and youth from ages 3 to 17. • Kids and their accompanying adults can fish the entire day. • On-site registration begins at 6:00 a.m. • The competition begins at 7:00 a.m. • The weigh-in for top prizes in four age groups and for the biggest catch of the day will be at 10:00 a.m. • Refreshments will be provided, but participants must bring their own bait and tackle.
