Your MWA

The Macon Water Authority is an environmentally conscious organization, which strives to provide quality products and reliable services to our customers. We aim to do this while maintaining a professional staff that is at all times courteous and helpful in our dealings with customers and other stakeholders.

While "Service is Our Mission" at the Macon Water Authority, the day to day work of this public utility puts that philosophy into action. More specifically, the mission of the MWA is:

To provide clean, safe drinking water and sewer services for approximately 50,000 customers, utilizing the latest advances in technology to enhance service, while maintaining the integrity and stewardship of our community's natural resources.

At the Macon Water Authority, we desire to be the best utility not only in Georgia, but also in the southeastern United States. We are a regional provider of water to central Georgia. The MWA provides water to Macon and Bibb County, as well as selling water both wholesale and retail to portions of Monroe and Jones Counties.

The Macon Water Authority policies are directed by a seven-member board of directors, with a chairman elected county-wide, four members elected in area districts, and two members serving as representatives of the Macon City Council and the Bibb County Board of Commissioners, respectively.
